Workshop Description:
This 2 day in person work shop focuses on getting inspired by the seascapes, listening to your inner voice and express it through oil on canvas. The intention is to enrich your current practice with tools (nails, fork) and media (sand) that create texture and contrast. We start our day with a walk along the shoreline, free our mind and take in some sketches. We collect some sand or little stuff, our trail- treasures and paint our story in oil on canvas integrating the treasures.
About the Instructor:
Jutta Gietl is a contemporary painter, who lives in Reno, NV. Born and raised in Germany, she holds a master's degree in Material Sciences and Engineering and follows her passion as an artist.
Using abstract expressionism, she applies a fusion of contrasting elements, light versus dark, smoothness versus texture, juggling size scales, to construct harmonious balance amidst chaos. She considers herself a beach- and mountain comber, where she collects her trail- treasures.
Deeply imprinted in her canvases is a call to break out of algorithmic mind cages, invoking explorative freedom and inviting tranquil enjoyment. Her media is mainly Oil on Canvas and Mixed Media.
She is a member of the Sierra Arts Foundation, The Latimer Art Club, the Downtown Modernists and shows her work every year in multiple Venues and Exhibitions.
