About the Instructor:
I was born and raised in Oakland CA where I was fortunate enough to attend the Berkeley Children’s Art Studio as a child which gave me confidence as an artist and respect for the process of creating. My parents were from England and I spent much of my youth over there, mostly in Sussex. I studied art history, drawing, and sculpture/studio at UCSB. I trained under master printmakers Kazuko Wantanabe and Emmanuel Montoya at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, where I did my residency.
I work primarily in reduction linocut which I hand press in limited editions—mostly one-of-a-kind but I also work in intaglio. My work is in private collections in the UK, Germany and across the US.
I teach linocut and woodcut printmaking and art history workshops at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto and at the Mendocino Art Center.
