Workshop Description:
In this fun 3-day workshop we will explore the use of various GOLDEN gel mediums, grounds and pastes to create dynamic textural interest in watercolor painting. Exercises will be focused mainly on abstract rather than representational Imagery. Students will create 1-2 paintings using 300lb watercolor paper and crescent board as a base surface and incorporate the techniques of pouring, spraying, layering (and possibly dancing)...to create work that dazzles. Students will also create sample boards of the various mediums that will serve visual notes for their future paintings. Open to all levels.
About the Instructor:
Linda Cloonan is a native California Artist and Author. She holds Signature Member status with the California Watercolor Association. Her paintings have attracted national awards, are collected Internationally, and have also been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine. Her work is held as part of the permanent collection of Levi Strauss & Co. as well as the Hotel Bristol in Sorrento, Italy. In 2016 Linda left a long-standing career in Apparel Design to focus on painting, writing and teaching. www.lindacloonan.com
