Mendocino Art Center Mission:
Thriving as an educational destination
for artists and art lovers.

The Mendocino Art Center is searching for an Executive Director (ED). This person will lead the organization in making our mission a success.

We want a leader who will work collaboratively and synergistically with the Board of Directors and empower staff to make its offerings of art classes, gallery shows and special events a major attraction for our local, national, and international customer base.

The ED will foster a creative “get things done” atmosphere which is financially responsible and ensures the Art Center is a fun and inspiring place for visitors and employees.

A major challenge for the ED is to lead a collaborative effort to increase donation funding. The successful candidate will also create a vibrant membership program and seek out new and encourage current donors to support our mission.

The ED will play a vital role in helping attract exceptional artists to teach classes and inspire students.

Now entering its 60th year, the Mendocino Art Center has a rich history as a driving force in making Mendocino a major draw for visitors. The Art Center has been a continuing positive force on the culture and economic viability of the area.

The ED will have the opportunity to build upon and enrich this history and to further the legacy of the Art Center.

Application Deadline: October 23, 2018

The Mendocino Art Center is a very special place, located in a stunning, rural location, overlooking a rugged expanse of the Pacific Ocean, 150 miles north of San Francisco. It has been a haven for artists since 1959, when founders Bill and Jennie Zacha first realized the potential of this unique community as an artists' colony.
